Trauma Counselling
Trauma can result from a traumatic event or experience, and can range from developmental hurdles to natural disasters. Counselling can be very beneficial in developing new coping skills and reducing the effects of the trauma response. Practicing stress reduction techniques and exploring by way of solution focused therapy can often prove helpful for trauma clients.
Trauma can vary from person to person and can include:
- Puberty
- Relationship problems
- Loss of a loved one
- Natural disasters (hurricane, earthquake, flood etc.)
- Witnessing a disturbing event (first responders, eye witnesses etc.)
